Are Corian Worktops Easy To Clean?

Corian worktops are a solid surface worktop. They come in a wide variety of colours, from true bright white to metallics and even bolder colours like dark and dramatic charcoals. To say they’re a great addition to the home is an understatement.

Despite its popularity and true beauty, many still wonder just how easy Corian worktops are to clean and whether they require a lot of maintenance and attention. Today, we’re going to show you how easy these worktops are to clean and how low maintenance they really are.

Cleaning Corian Worktops

Corian offers a huge number of key features, with one of the biggest benefits of this material being the fact that it’s non-porous, which not only makes it stain resistant but super hygienic and easy to clean. How? For the simple fact that bacteria cannot work its way into the worktop over time. Instead, bacteria and germs will rest on the surface, awaiting a damp cloth and gentle cleanser to remove it with ease.

Everyday Cleaning Has Never Been Easier

While Corian may be non-porous which means every day spills won’t penetrate the surface of the worktops, it’s best to wipe up spills as and when they happen. Generally speaking, a damp microfiber cloth will be the best type of cloth to use, with any simple household spray. We do advise however to avoid using super harsh chemicals as these can begin to react with your worktop.

For most spills however, a simple damp cloth with warm soapy water will be enough to ensure your worktop looks beautiful in minutes. We know that many like to enhance the shine on their worktops however we do advise that you avoid using products like window cleaners as this can leave a wax like finish on your worktop and can very well have an affect on any food you choose to prepare on your worktops surface.

When cleaning, try your best to buff, wiping in circular motions as this will ensure it’s as clean as can possibly be and will avoid streak like marks on the surface. We also recommend wiping up with a towel or dry cloth afterwards to ensure the surface is completely dry – thus avoiding water marks that could ruin any shine.

Corian Is The Perfect Choice For Low Maintenance Lovers

Generally speaking, darker colour worktops will require a little more attention for the simple fact that they may show dust, grime and even light scratches quicker than lighter colours will, however it’s clear that Corian is a very low maintenance workout surface requiring very little in the way of cleaning.
